Figments of Imagination

Clear. Everything is crystal clear when you are high.
Woooow.

Looks like those hands are not yours. You give them command for every word you type. And they follow your command. It feels powerful. Like you control the world.

The music running in background seems to pierce your soul and talk to you. It asks strange questions. And you don't have answers to a lot of them. Choose those songs with extreme caution. They can lead you in awkward circumstances.

The faces look at you with utter ingratitude. Like you owe them something you could never repay. Even the smile looks evil. Those faces, those scary mocking faces, they never looked the same before.

And the time. The time seems to fly at its own pace. Every moment makes a sound. Tick Tock. Tick Tock. Seems like a race between your heartbeat and the time. And boy. You are curious who wins. Its like every moment is living its own life and you are the spectator.

And what about the thought you were trying to run away from ? Does it vanish into thin air as you expected ? Does it not make a knock back at your conscience ? Does it leave your hand in a dark alley like an unfaithful friend ? Or does it wait for you to regain your consciousness like a trustworthy wife ? Or it just gives you a wicked smile and reminds you of your cowardice ?

So once again I say. Is everything crystal clear when you are high ? You have to answer your share of questions. Not me.

P.S. I wasn't high when I wrote this. I was just a few feet above the ground...:P.

Life

Life, as per my dictionary, is a collection of memorable moments that you ever had. Its something that flashes back at you when u lie on your deathbed taking your last breaths.

Did u ever think that every moment of your life can be made memorable ? Were you too lazy to do so ? Or you were too busy earning the money that you might never use as per your wishes ?

I have seen people living for 70 - 80 years. And they are in such mental or physical state that they wish to die everyday. And I have also seen people who killed themselves as 40. Just because they have achieved(or atleast tried) everything in their life they wished, and they didn't have anything to live for anymore. Obviously the former(the longlives, as I may say) had a count in millions and the latter(the kinglives, as they deserve to be called) could be counted on fingers.

If I were to summarize the kinglives, they just had a attitude towards life that the longlives lacked. The longlives went with the blind flock of sheep and were resistant to change. The kinglives were the risktakers, and they were never stagnant. The kinglives knew very well that life is very much a synonym for change.

The kinglives have a motto in their life : If nothing in your life is changing, you are as good as dead. While longlives just had to say : Earn your bread, we'll think about it later instead.

Beware of your emotions

Human being is an emotional creature. So, like machines, he generally has a conscious rational state. But, unlike machines, he has a subconscious emotional state as well. This makes him an interesting creature. Because every task he does or situation he faces is under the possible influence of his subconscious emotional state. This in turn makes every event in his life not just an event but a trigger for a chain reaction of events.

Let us suppose, for an instance, that you made a mistake in your assignment today. Your boss calls you in and gives you what you deserve(pun intended). Just a few abuses and warning to kick you out on another malfunction.

You come to your seat and your junior irritates you with his regular doubts. You backfire at him for his lack of attention in his work. Your junior then gets a call from a bank for a credit card offer. The junior abuses him in a prominent tone and indirectly tells him to rot in hell.

You then get a call from your parents. You are pissed off and they can sense it from your voice. Your parents start introspecting that was it a bad decision that they enrolled you into engineering once.

Last but not the least, you call your girlfriend to shrug things off, and you find that she had just encountered a similar situation. And you become a sink rather than a source(in terms of Physics).

And all this just because of a trigger of your boss pushed in the wrong direction. He could have handled the situation otherwise and the world would have been a better place. So you have every chance to contribute to this world with every word you speak. Its your choice, in which direction you wish to push the trigger.

P.S. : The employee boss example was taken in order to correlate things with the majority...:P.

What a life without responsibilities.

Have u ever seen a bird flying. Flipping its wings in the air. Leaving its nest everytime to get some food for its little ones. And twigs to repair its withering nest. The nature is always playing with the bird. Sometimes changing the course of the wind. And breaking its nest at times with those thundering storms. The nest is once again built, and once again broken.

But the bird never fails to deliver its share of responsibilities. It is busy feeding its little ones. Young ones need not care for the food and shelter. Their world is little. The boundary of the nest is their skyline. Everything else happening is like a show on the television that's going on and on. And one day, they are ready to fly. Fly beyond that skyline that they always thought was they wont ever break.

Just Do It

A man approached JP Morgan, held up an envelope, and said, “Sir, in my hand I hold a guaranteed formula for success, which I will gladly sell you for $25000.””Sir, ”JP Morgan replied, “I do not know what is in the envelope, however if you show me, and I like it, I give you my word as a gentleman that I will pay you what you ask.” The man agreed to the terms, and handed over the envelope. JP Morgan opened it, and extracted a single sheet of paper. He gave it one look, a mere glance, then handed back piece of paper back to the gent. And paid him the agreed upon $25000.

The paper read:

  1. Every morning, write a list of the things that need to be done that day.
  2. Do them.

Change your frequency buddy......

Why do drug addicts hang around with fellow drug addicts? Why do spiritual satsang-attendees hang around with similar-minded people? What is the Page 3 culture all about with everybody who’s part of it talking about dress, stress and less? Why do some people attract wealth wherever they go and whatever they do? Why do we find ourselves sometimes thinking the same thought throughout the week or month? Why is it that some people always have a knack of getting into trouble, like Harbhajan Singh and Sreesanth, and why do some always attract success, like Dhoni? The answer lies in an oft-repeated and randomly-used word: frequency.

We all have a frequency. We operate on one. Our frequency is determined by our breathing rate, and this frequency determines the vibration of the atoms inside us. Everything – living, non-living, animate, inanimate - vibrates because everything comprises atoms. When one person’s vibration is harmonious with another’s, they exclaim, “Oh, we share a similar frequency!”Or “we vibe well” or “our tuning matches”.

In other words, we use physics terms like ‘frequency’, ‘vibration’, ‘tuning’, etc., in our everyday lingo without really understanding the true meaning of the sentences. Put another way, we end up using words that actually denote the big truth, but we simply don’t realise that.

So, two people resonating similarly will have similar interests, tastes, etc., and those whose frequencies don’t match, will have cat-fights galore. “Oh they just can’t ‘get along’ with each other” we say. ‘Get along’ or in other words, ‘resonate’. Likewise, if a person’s frequency resonates with the frequency of a book, that book will become that person’s ‘favourite’ book. Ditto with chair (my favourite chair), food item, toy, corner, etc.

Operating on a set frequency can also give rise to attachments. For instance, different activities or thought processes– like spirituality, sex, reading, gossiping, gambling, cleaning, etc. - have different frequencies. Ordinarily speaking, we call this ‘addiction’. Have you seen people who cannot get sleep without getting their daily dose of gossip? How about those who are addicted to talking and thinking about sex? Then there are some people who are addicted to being scrupulously clean. They keep on cleaning everything. We also call this OCD – Obsessive Compulsive Behaviour.

All these categories of people are ‘frequency-victims’ ie. they are like damaged long-playing records that keeps tripping on a particular point while rotating on the spindle. They will continue to operate on the same frequency as if on autopilot till something happens that suddenly changes their frequency. A typical example would be people who start behaving completely differently from their usual self, after witnessing the death of a close one.

If you find yourself doing an activity repeatedly and want to get rid of that habit, practise slow breathing. A simple way to do this is to watch your breathing – as the air goes in and comes out of your nostrils. Just the act of watching will slow down your breathing. Prolonged differential rate of breathing will change your frequency will snap you out of your addiction.

Remember, there are only two truths in this world – one is you breathe; the other is you will die. Death is not in your hands, but breathing definitely is. It is up to you how correctly you want to breathe. Well, the yogic science of pranayama is all about that, isn’t it?
